"Nubworthy, buy a box, smoke one every day, what else can I say? This cigar was extremely enjoyable from pre light to nub. The flavor transitions were amazing and the complexity, which is sometimes not a good thing, was 100% on point here. It starts of medium and sweet and finished bold and zesty. Not so sweet that it is hard to pair with a beverage and not so spicy that it wrecks your palate. Well balanced, well blended. These will be a permanent resident in the humidor!" -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)
"The final third of this cigar really upped the enjoyment factor. It took it from good to very good in my opinion. I have always been a fan of cigars with many transitions, and this one did not let me down and threw in a completely unexpected and unique flavor, that made the cigar a true star. The strength and body stayed right in the medium range and can be enjoyed by anyone. The flavors would go well with morning coffee as well as a lighter bodied beer that won't overrun it. I am really looking forward to finding out what this cigar is and recommend you try it when the secret is out! " -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)
Southern Draw announced two new line extensions to the Desert Rose cigar today, the Famous Exclusivo (Exclusive to Famous Smoke Shop) and the Lonsdale. The company also announced that the original Desert Rose Belicoso Finos 5.5x54 will now be a regular production cigar in both 20 count boxes and 20 count bundles.
"The cigar started off well, developed nicely, then finished with a slight harshness that wasn't quite enjoyable. It heated up quite a bit in the final third. Maybe smoking it slower would eliminate this, but I am not 100% sure. All in all a decent smoke. The power behind it as it transitioned through the final two thirds was a bit of a surprise, and may prove too strong for a newer smoker. I was expecting it to stay in the medium range with the sweeter notes from the beginning." -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)
"If the flavors of the first third would've lasted for the whole cigar, then this would have been the perfect cigar for me. That being said, this was a very good cigar that I would smoke again. Find some and enjoy, if you are a fan of Cuban style flavors. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi)
"This was an excellent cigar for the size and time commitment. Sometimes you just need a cigar for 40-50 minutes but still want a kick in the teeth. I definitely got that here. I'd be interesting in picking more of these up to add to my rotation." -Doug S. (Unpossible_1)
"If you are a mild cigar smoker or even like something stronger I think you would enjoy this cigar. This was a sweet and creamy cigar with fruit notes. Great roasted flavor towards the end. I smoked this until it was burning my fingers with little to no harsh flavor whatsoever." -Jake P. (Jake P.)
"This was a nice easy smoke. If you are drinking I would not pair with something strong at first because it would most likely wash out and flavor from the cigar. Sweet and cedar I saltiness to be the backbone of this cigar. Mix that with some saltiness." -Jake P. (Jake P.)
"I thought this was a great cigar. I enjoyed the bigger ring gage on this cigar, It had a great feel in your hand. I felt this cigar smoked just liked it smelled. It was very wood heavy with a honey sweetness. It was on the milder side on strength but I feel that even someone who leans to a stronger cigar would enjoy this cigar." -Jake P. (Jake P.)
"While there was a little bit of concern from the mid-point on, all in all this cigar offered a very pleasant smoking experience. The transitions from start to finish were well defined and each complimented the next. It is firmly in the medium full range in strength and body, and would be most enjoyed by smokers with a little experience under their belt to truly appreciate what the cigar has to offer. This is definitely a cigar I would like to smoke again. " -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)
