As we close out our series on Puro Sabor 2018, let's take a look at the events that made the week special. In all honesty, even the everyday lunches were special events. It seemed like every time we gathered for a meal, the organizers pulled out all the stops and made it a grand occasion instead of just another meal. One of my favorite things about all of these events was the reality of being able to sit down with people from all over the world, all walks of life, and all manner of experience in the cigar industry. We were all the same at these events. It was just an enormous group of friends gathering for a meal, some drinks, and great conversation.
"I liked this. A lot. I'd be happy to have a humidor packed full of them, and hope they're priced to allow that. That being said, it's not extraordinary. It's not terribly nuanced, or subtle, but it's really good at being a really nice medium-full, ultra peppery cigar." -John I. (John I.)
Saturday, July 1, 2017 — Managua, Nicaragua: The Antaño Dark Corojo packaging is getting an upgrade that matches its unadulterated boldness with a beautiful dark and oily wrapper. This change is accompanied by a new box and band.
The Joya family is proud to present Joya Black, a follow up to the very well-received Joya Red launched in 2014. This new blend is a continuation of efforts from the Joya de Nicaragua factory to introduce contemporary, innovative products to the marketplace.
Fratello Cigars will soon be launching their third store-exclusive cigar. The Esclusivo will be made for and sold only by Old Virginia Tobacco Co. The Fratello Esclusivo is a 5x52 Piramide and will be available in 20-count boxes.
"This was a good cigar with wonderful flavors and a personality. The taste started off on the medium strong side, went mild and then came back to a strong flavor. The black tea and cinnamon were wonderfully balanced and left a nice spicy taste on the tongue. The strength never got too strong to make me even think of putting it down. The tea and cinnamon remained consistent throughout the entire smoke. Definitely one for the humidor." -Eric (smalls29)
Monday, July 3, 2017 — Managua, Nicaragua: The Antaño Gran Reserva asks you to do one thing only: to keep daring. It carries the same character as the Antaño 1970 but instead uses select extra aged, tobaccos only. Over 15 years ago the Antaño cigar defined the standard of full bodied cigars. The Antaño 1970 is an iconic cigar in the Joya de Nicaragua portfolio. Not only because of its unprecedented strength, and rich Nicaraguan character, but also as our best seller cigar in the US.

·"This was a cigar I would gladly smoke again. Every aspect of the cigar was really good, and it kept me interested the entire time. Bold smoke output, great burn, complex and yummy flavors. These are the characteristics anyone would want in a cigar." -Matthew T. (A Huge Nerd)
