"This cigar was really really good. From the initial aromas and cold draw, to the nice burn and finished product, there was not much to not enjoy. The subtle notes of cherry jam that came in during the middle really gave this a complex profile. These are very good well-made cigars and I can only hope I have the opportunity to smoke another one." -Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)
"I was sold from from first puff. Love a good closed foot that gives a quick reveal of the wrapper flavor at first light. This cigar has nice and subtle transitions. It does change, but not much. Thoroughly enjoyable smoke. Maintained a solid finish throughout that left me enjoying the flavors until the next draw. I’d pick this cigar up again." -Randy B. (randobush)
The Henry Clay brand might not be one of Altadis U.S.A.'s premier lines, but Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars has had an affinity for these oft-ignored cigars ever since he started smoking them. Now, the Altadis blending team known as the Grupo de Maestros has worked closely with Johnson and will be releasing a collaborative cigar dubbed the Henry Clay Tattoo.
"Overall, a great cigar. Plenty of smoke and enjoyable flavors. Although the flavor transitions were not super complex, the flavors of leather, cedar, and the later presence of sweetness made for an overall pleasurable experience. The temperature from the smoke was fairly cool and I was able to take this one all the way down to a nub and never really picked up any harshness. I will definitely smoke this cigar again." -Angel M. "This is one of the better experiences I have had since being a panelist with Blind Man's Puff. While the prelight aromas were a little "odd" and had what I would describe as hints of dryness to it, the overall profile of the cigar was great! It developed nicely and changed all along the way, offering something different and enjoyable with each part of the cigar. This is a key point for me in rating a cigar, as I personally feel a cigar that develops a more favorable profile as it goes, is paramount to a rewarding smoking experience that keeps the smoker coming back for more" -Kevin A. ·"I really liked this cigar. It performed beautifully, it gave me lots of sweet chocolate flavors with a bit of white pepper and some baking spices. It never got above a medium in strength, and I even caught myself a few times looking at the cigar and saying out loud "Wow this is good." Would definitely smoke more, if not purchase a box.
