Byron is a brand from Selected Tobacco Company. It was created by Nelson Alfonso who is a graphic designer that is behind designs for all of the major Cuban brands including the famed Behike. The cigar comes from Costa Rica and the Londinenses vitola is 5.5” x 54. Blend information is undisclosed which is common for all of the brands released by Alfonso.

The sweet notes in this cigar range from honey, to caramel, to a vanilla cream, which really makes the cigar come to life. These sweet notes pair well with hearty tobacco and oak notes. Construction is top notch and the draw evens out into a smooth draw with just enough resistance. This cigar may be a bit too much for beginners, but it is a necessity for experienced cigar enthusiasts. This is a cigar that got better as it went along. Plenty of transitions to keep things interesting and one that just begs you to keep retrohaling to experience all of the flavors that it offers. The fuller strength is something that may be better suited for the end of the day or after a meal. The price point fits the experience, so I wouldn't hesitate on pulling the trigger on getting some of these if they are available to you.

"Very good cigar. Since this was a flavor over strength type of cigar, this is another winner in my book. If I smoke a cigar that is sweet, creamy, woody and nutty, I will always like it. The only let down were the pockets of bitterness. I am going to bet on the bitterness subsiding after some additional humidor time. Fiver for me to smoke when the bitterness subsides." -Jiunn (jliu)
