The first cigar ever released from Crowned Heads was the Four Kicks, back in 2011. Jon Huber turned to E.P. Carrillo to make the cigar, and this is where he turns again to make the latest in the line: Four Kicks Capa Especial.
For the second year in a row, Crowned Heads is partnering with Drew Estate for their annual "Paniolo Especiale" Limited Edition cigar. This is an exclusive to the state of Hawaii. Paniolo Especiale 2020 is rolled at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua and is a corona gorda measuring 5 3/4 x 46. The blend is similar to last years using a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Mexican San Andres binder, and filers from Nicaragua, and Dominican Republic, but this year features tobacco from Brazil. The original Headley Grange was inspired by the drum beat on the lead-in to the Led Zeppelin classic "When the Levee Breaks." The name came from where the track was recorded, a former poorhouse (built in 1795) in East Hampshire, England, named Headley Grange. Last year, Crowned Heads released a limited edition version called "Black Lab LE 2018," named after the black Labrador Retriever that was hanging around the Headley Grange studio during the recording of Led Zeppelin IV. That blend uses the same fillers as the original Headley Grange, but replaces the wrapper with Connecticut (Habano) maduro. For 2019, Crowned Heads is releasing "Headley Grange Chamuco LE 2019."
The Crowned Heads Lawless Day is a day inspired by the 2013 movie "The Purge" where the company lets any retailer order the company's state-only exclusives. This years Lawless Day will be November 1, 2019. These state exclusives include: Tennessee Waltz (a Tennessee state exclusive), Yellow Rose (a Texas state exclusive), and Buckeye Land (an Ohio state exclusive).

·Every year we put together a list of our Top 25 Cigars of the Year. Our list is a bit different from some other lists, it is not simply a rehashing of our top scores from the year, or one person's opinion. We gave each of our panelists 10 votes to cast how they please for what they enjoyed the most in 2019. The order of their votes matter, so their #1 pick is worth twice as much as #10. The cigars do not have to have been reviewed by Blind Man's Puff, but the panelist must have smoked it.

Everything you look for in a great cigar is here. Tremendous smoke output with creamy smoke, solid construction, and a nice balance of flavors. If there was a bit more evolution of flavors I think it would be the best Headley Grange release in years. I would definitely recommend picking up a fiver of these.
