"Pre-light I thought this was the perfect cigar for a morning smoke. I stand by the voices in my head. While the pepper in the first and final third overshadowed the other notes a bit, I could still pull out some other flavors. The balance was a little off but I think enjoying it with a cup of coffee may add what the cigar was missing." -Gregg (McGreggor57)
"This was a good cigar, with lots of heavy cream notes, but there weren't any other flavors to keep my attention, It burned, and smoked great. Might be a good cigar in the morning with a cup of java." -Mickey T. (irratebass)
"The first half flavors were similar but lacked much interest before some cedar broke through. The final third, however, offered up a nice richness of slightly burnt coffee with wood char and an oiliness to the leather on the finish. Perfectly balanced flavors that really elevated this cigar." -Gregg (McGreggor57)

·"Performance scores raised my overall evaluation. The flavors of the first two thirds were OK, but not special. Unfortunately the harshness of the final third would have me thinking twice about trying this one again." -Gregg (McGreggor57)

·“A great smoke in just about every way. I am not normally a fan of anything bigger than 50 RG, and rarely chose to smoke anything toro length or longer, but I would gladly smoke one of these again. The blend was nice, the profile hit a personal sweet spot for me, and the complete lack of a need for maintenance despite my inconsistent smoking over a period of more than an hour and a half, made smoking this cigar a very enjoyable experience.” –Dave W. ·"This cigar offered up a nice balanced mix of cedar and coffee throughout. Some cocoa, orange zest and leather kept me engaged while the bookend pepper was a nice addition. Maybe not a special occasion smoke, it's certainly one to keep on hand." -Gregg (McGreggor57)

"The first two thirds showed some promise, although a bit one dimensional. The creamy leather and oak combination was very enjoyable. The final third, however, was my samples unraveling. A harsh cedar and tight draw almost had me tossing this one. Based on other reviewers experiences, this might be a candidate for the golf course." -Gregg (McGreggor57)

·“Part of the joy of a blind review is finding out later what it is I was smoking. Well, I am very excited to find out on this one because I may be buying a box. The flavor and aroma combination was fantastic and interesting. The burn was incredible. The smoke output was HUGE. If it is a cigar in my price range, I will be stocking up.” –Matthew T. ·“This is a cigar that I could see myself giving to a novice or a seasoned cigar smoker. The seasoned bloke will enjoy the change in pace of flavors presented on sample 529 and the novice will become introduced into the world of what a premium cigar can offer. This is a cigar that could be smoked and enjoyed after several other offerings as the profile is bold and evident. Construction was top-notch and however many hundred or thousand hands it touched before coming to fruition, it was worth it.” –Matt C. (Big Matt)
