Then there's something called Ristefari. Don't worry if you've never heard of it. By the end of this article you will probably want to go. Ristefari is the brainchild of Riste Ristevski, owner and founder of Jas Sum Kral Cigars (JSK). In a nutshell Ristefari is like a cigar event, a cigar festival and a family reunion combined into a weekend. In early March of 2018 I was fortunate enough to attend Ristefari 2018. Here's a rundown of some of the best points of Ristefari.
Jas Sum Kral Cigars and Black Lion Luxuries are collaborating to release an exclusive, limited-edition cigar for the members of the Black Lion Luxuries Club. The Kralot Black Lion Luxuries Club Exclusive is a Churchill that measures 7 x 50. Kralot was also the name of Jas Sum Kral’s first limited edition released in 2018. The Kralot Black Lion Luxuries Club Exclusive is similar to that original release but uses Ecuadorian Habano wrapper instead of a San Andres wrapper.
Jas Sum Kral has announced two new sizes of Nuggs in both the natural and maduro blends for the 2020 TPE tradeshow: a 5.5x44 corona gorda, and a 7x44 lonsdale. These new sizes will only be available to current Nuggs retailers that carry the 4 x 48 size.
This was an excellent cigar. It was a Connecticut, which I usually don't gravitate towards, but as I said before, this is not your typical Connecticut. There is TONS of flavor and many transitions to keep your attention. The cigar was very smooth, and could be enjoyed anytime of the day not just with your coffee or as your 1st smoke of the day, but I will recommend you smoke it on a fresh palate in order to taste all the flavors this stick throws at you. My hat's off to Riste on making a wonderful smoke.
Riste Ristevski has announced the return of the The Jas Sum Kral Zlatno Sonce. Only 100 boxes have been made in only one vitola, a 6.5x42 box press. The blend uses a Butterscotch Ecuadorian Connecticut Wrapper, undisclosed binder, corojo and undisclosed filler.
Riste Ristevski announced a new product for Jas Sum Kral, Fronto. The Fronto is a wrapper leaf, and will be shown off at the TPE 2020 show in Las Vegas. This leaf can be used to wrap other smokable products.
Sota Kator translates to "sweet cookies" and is the new Sweden Regional Exclusive from Jas Sum Kral (JSK).
"This was an enjoyable cigar for me. A little strong on the finish, but the start and middle parts were very memorable. On top of that, it can easily be enjoyed if time is short, and can safely be paired with coffee and tea, as well as with spiced sodas and most beers and spirits. Hopefully, more of these will find their way into my humidor." -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)
JSK (Jas Sum Kral) has announced a new cigar: Tyrannical Buc. Included in the press release was this definition of tyrannical:
"This was an experience that I have never before had. The cigar started off very mild and had me wondering what was going on. However, as it approached the second third the flavors intensified first with the nice pepper flavors followed by the more intense woody and then charred wood flavors. No one flavor stood out and never made for a bad experience. Definitely one for the humidor." -Eric (smalls29)
