Blind Cigar Review: Casa Cuevas | Reserva Maduro Toro

"Overall this was a steady and flavorful cigar with a multitude of flavors and complexity. The first two thirds were my favorite with a great medium bodied experience of a classic medium full cigar. The last third was a bit to full in your face of string bold flavors, however i am sure that will appeal to some smokers indeed. A quality smoke that hopefully wont hit your wallet to hard!" -John A. "What made the cigar unique is that while the primary flavors of citrus, meats, and chocolates were always there, the aspect of those flavors changed. You start off with a nice grilled steak and then you moved to a barbecue, and then you finished with something that was overly prepared. Or you had a nice citrus peel, that went dry. And then you finished with an unripened fruit. Very unique.I I found that rather interesting and I would definitely give this a try again." -Isaac M. (The Nothing)

"I really enjoyed this cigar. It had just enough transitions to keep me interested and just kept getting better as I went along. There was a lot of creamy coco, brown sugar, leather, hay, and woodiness notes that all worked together in a really nice way. I would suggest trying one for yourself. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)

"This was an ok cigar. It didn't really blow me away. There were lots of wood, and earthy flavors mixed with white and black pepper, but the cigar sadly didn't shine for me until the final third where cream came in and really rounded the cigar out. Unfortunately the cigar really annoyed me with the burn issues. I can't recommend this cigar because of that reason. " -Mickey T. (irratebass)

"I think it's better than the sum of its parts. It smokes great, the ash was impressive, I liked the shape and ascetics of the cigar. It just could have been a bit more interesting in terms of flavor. It's by no means bland or wispy in flavors but I'd have to be in the mood for a tobacco flavor profile to really enjoy it at the time. Still, I would recommend this if the price was right and the flavors are in your wheelhouse. " -Alan (Eulogy)

"Definitely an easy going smoke. Medium to full bodied flavors of oak, leather, light black pepper and a bit of sweetness made for a nice enjoyable smoke. It seemed like eternity to finish this long sized cigar, so I did get a bit bored and would probably enjoy it in a smaller format. Not bad at all, give them a try!" -John A. (Bostoneo)

"Exceptional smoke in my estimation. Reminded me quite a bit of a Padron 1926. Big flavor, powerful, lots of smoke. Great flavors of chocolate with some background spice and sweetness. Not really a lot of transitional flavors, but the core of this was so enjoyable I really wasn't interested in going anywhere else. I enjoyed every second of this, and I'm ready to go buy a bunch more. " -John I. (John I.)

"The cigar surprise me a little. The initial inspection had a rough wrapper that I usually associate with a sub par cigar. When all is said and done, I could see myself smoking a lot of these. Great cigar for those times when you’re rushed but want to light one up. If these sticks are priced right, I buy a bundle of them and keep them for the "in-between" times I want to have a puff.
