That brings us to one of the best features. The price. The MSRP of the Linea is only $29.99. And don't go thinking that this "budget" lighter isn't still a performer. Xikar still backs the Linea with a lifetime warranty, just like the other Xikar lighters that cost two or three times as much. Functionality, efficiency, and reliability all in such a meager price point is not easy to do, but Xikar did it with the Linea. The Linea is available in Yellow (pictured), Red, Blue, and Black. It is available where Xikar products are sold, and at Xikar.com
Something that every cigar smoker has to deal with is keeping your cigars at the right humidity. An essential tool...
XlKAR rounds out its lighter category with the Volta, a quad flame tabletop and the first of its kind. Built on a strong, stout foundation, the Volta makes any table look important with its' size and form. It will be introduced at IPCPR 2015 in New Orleans. Keep reading below for our review.
The basic design of the cigar cutter hasn't changed much in the last 100 years. Sure, you have different shapes, different number of blades, and of course there are many levels of quality, but the basic design has remained the same. Until now.
Cigargle was started by Liam King and his two partners, Scott Carr and William King. The group of friends shared a love for cigars, but not so much the cigar-mouth aka bad breath and lingering taste the next day, that came with it. Their wives were also not fans of said cigar breath. As a group, they tried many remedies prescribed by others, mints, mouthwashes, gums, etc. But nothing worked to their satisfaction, so what did they do? Start their own company to solve the problem of course. Cigargle was born.
Just prior to the 2017 IPCPR trade show, Xikar announced a few new products they would be showing off, one of those being a new kind of butane for cigar lighters, called PUROFINE High Performance. This new mixture of butane was originally designed for use in high-altitude location over 6,000 ft where oxygen is less abundant, but as they were testing the product, they found that it could also be used to increase current flame height and performance of any lighter.
In Late 2014 Xikar announced the Turrim Double Flame lighter coming in at a hefty 5 x 64. Designed to fit into your favorite Xikar Travel Humidor. At this year's IPCPR Trade Show, Xikar revealed the Turrim Single Flame version. The Single flame version comes in at a very reasonable 4.5 x 50. If you have seen or read up on the Original Turrim you would find this version has all the same features you would expect.
This was the only cutter I took with me on a grueling 17 day trip from the Dominican Republic to Nicaragua. By the end of the trip every person was asking to use it for every cigar we smoked. They loved the cut, the feel, and the look. I love it too. I didn't think it would be possible, but it has replaced my original XV as my everyday cutter. It is a little thicker in a pocket but the trade-offs are worth it. I would recommend this to anyone thinking about spending some money on a cutter.
Overall, this is a great piece of traditional, yet modern, cigar clothing. I would not hesitate in recommending this for your formal or casual cigar event if you want to stand out a bit from the crowd. The price is right, and the quality is high, so do yourself a favor and check out the Y.A. Bera website.
Overall, I REALLY enjoyed this experience. It gave me an opportunity to do something that, until now, was only a dream. And the great thing is, anyone can do it. There are a few things I would add or improve, and hopefully those things will be changed in the future if this becomes more popular. Those few shortcomings are far outweighed by the awesome experience and attention to detail in presentation. I want to thank Natasha and George again for giving me the opportunity to review this product, I really enjoyed the experience and definitely recommend this to all the intermediate and advanced smokers out there.
