Cigar News: George Rico Announces Private Humidor Selection
Miami, Florida, May 21, 2015 – Gran Habano announces the first official release from the Private Humidor Selection by George Rico, a series of heavenly-aged cigars straight out of George’s private reserve. The Private Humidor Selection will come from the 30,000 cigars produced and personally designated for George’s personal use since 2003, and will be eventually released in different blends and sizes.

"Loved this cigar. The start was a super rich desert profile and transitioned into a bold earthy experience. It was a super engaging cigar that kept me trying to figure out the flavors the entire time. The construction was perfect and the smoke was rich and creamy. I would smoke this again and look forward to picking up a box." -Alan (Eulogy)
Draw, burn, and construction were spot on and should be a mile marker what the quality of how a cigar should be rolled and constructed. The flavor profiles of chocolate, coffee, and leather appeared to be the dominate flavor profiles throughout the cigar which provided a nice relaxing experience. While I did not pair it with anything, a mocha latte or hot chocolate would pair wonderfully with this cigar as they would compliment each other immensely. Complexity was not in full force, however the profile was enjoyable enough to keep me happy throughout the duration of the session. Definitely something you should pick up if ever given the chance to attend a Foundation event!

"This cigar had many of the things I enjoy... great construction, draw, and burn with a wonderful medium-full bodied profile. The complexity of this cigar was fairly decent as well, ranging in flavors from leather, black pepper, cream, peanut butter, and malt made for a fantastic combination. "Any cigar that does not become bitter near the end is a good one. The spices for most of the time were a nice blend of cinnamon and nutmeg with a great spice tingle. Towards the end the black licorice came in but was not over bearing. All in all this is one that will pair well with a single malt scotch. It would be a nice addition to my humidor." -Eric (smalls29)

As I'm finishing up this cigar, I'm not sure if people really care about what someone thinks about an Acid. People that hate flavored cigars aren't going to want to try it and people that love Acids are going to want to smoke one regardless of what I thought about it. I'm not a flavored cigar smoker but I can recognize a quality cigar when I smoke one. Even if it's not really in my wheelhouse, it a well made cigar. The burn, construction, and draw are all top notch. The flavors are interesting albeit not subtle. Go and give one a shot.
Drew Estate announced today, a new size for their Undercrown Maduro and Shade blends, a 4 x 44 Corona Pequena. The new size will be shown off at TPE 2020.
