Crux Cigars announced the hiring of industry veteran Roy MacLaren as their new Executive Vice President of Sales. The hiring is effective immediately, and Roy will in the Crux Cigars booth at the 2018 IPCPR trade show this week in Las Vegas.
2018 Marks the 50th Anniversary of Davidoff Cigars. Zino Davidoff opened up his flagship store in 1968 which over the last 50 years has grown into one of the largest cigar brands in the world. To celebrate this mile marker, Davidoff is re-releasing the Diademas Finas, which was first released in 2006 which would have been Zino Davidoff's 100th birthday. This limited edition comes in four vitolas, each with it's own porcelain jar. Each jar is numbered and has it's own humidification device. Each jar is it's own art designs, created by French artist Mariane Léger. These designs are also used in the new Davidoff 50th anniversary “Caves du Monde” humidors, exclusive lighters, Limited Edition ashtray, pipes and pipe tobacco.
The Camacho Liberty Series has been a favorite of many Camacho fans for 16 years. In 2018, Camacho will take us back to the beginning with the Camacho Liberty 2005 Throwback. As with the previous Liberty releases from Camacho, this cigar will also coincide with Independence Day to honor the Birth of The United States.
AVO Cigars is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a special cigar: the AVO Improvisation 30 Years. This is the sixth release of the Improvisation line. This is the first of a multi-part series of limited edition cigars based on this anniversary. Total production for this release is 3,400 boxes. Each box contains 25 cigars and are based on the blend of AVO Classic No. 3. The wrapper is the same Ecuadorian Connecticut, but the binder has been switched to Dominican and filler has been altered.

Eric Hanson of Klin Groupe, LLC, the parent of Hammer + Sickle, has passed away at age 45. He started KlinGroupe in 2008 after working as the head of a beer distributor. The brand is maybe best know for it's Hammer + Sickle vodka, but also know in the cigar world for it's Hammer + Sickle lines if cigars.
Davidoff will host the Seventh Annual Golden Band Awards this year, also hosting a White Party to celebrate 50 years of innovative cigar making. The winners will be announced at an exclusive event on July 15th at Davidoff of Geneva, Las Vegas Cigar Bar. The Golden Band Awards are honoring those Appointed Merchants who best represent the Davidoff standard of excellence.
