"I don't normally smoke much in the way of "big" cigars. Anything that takes longer than about 90 minutes to smoke usually wont keep my attention. This cigar did a pretty good job of keeping me interested though and was nice to smoke. I don't know if its close enough to my normal "likes" for me to run out and make a purchase on, but I would certainly re-visit it down the road and give it another shot." -Dave (mdwest)

Blind Cigar Review: L’Atelier | Côte d’Or

"Overall, a very good cigar. With such a long cigar as this (roughly 7 inches and 48 ring gauge), the cigar did what I expected; start off with a core set of delicious, well balanced flavors (black pepper, leather, cedar, sweet cream, burnt bread) and build on them as the cigar progressed. I do wish the last third gave either an increase in body and/or more flavors (like the burnt bread starting from the second third). If this was the case, the cigar would have been bumped up to an excellent cigar. I would smoke this again but will pass on purchasing any." -Jiunn (jliu)

"I wanted to really give high praise for this cigar. When doing a blind review and coming across something so familiar, it almost gets your hopes up too much. The anticipation and buildup can end up having the opposite effect of one you'd expect. Fortunately, this wasn't completely the case for me. Sure, there were some issues related to construction, but I do feel like it was able to overcome them and give me an experience I would not mind repeating. Davidoff Chefs Edition 2021 – Quick Cigar Review

I have always enjoyed the idea/premise of the chef's editions. Everyone loves a good cigar pairing be it a pairing with bourbon, whiskey, beer, or even my favorite. Coffee. One thing we do not get a chance to do is pair cigars with food as it's not easily done in today's world. I was excited to see the chef's for this year's edition as it has Masa Takayama on the panel who by all rights is very much a true cigar smoker. You can't google his name without stumbling across him with a cigar. I have had the pleasure of smoking the chef's editions the last few years and this hands down is the best yet.
