This year's HVC Black Friday is a different take on the blend according to brand owner Reinier Lorenzo. This year went without ligero, and instead chose only visos and secos in the filler. Most of them are from the Jalapa region and a few from Esteli. He says the visos are powerful enough to bring a unique body to this blend. The wrapper is a Habano 92 from Ecuador.
Starting in August of this year, HVC Cigars will distribute its own cigars. This was previously done through Aganorsa Leaf who also rolls their cigars. This will be done through their new headquarters "HVC CIGARS HEADQUARTERS" in Doral, FL. None of the blends or lines are changing for the company.

·"I really enjoyed this cigar. It had just enough transitions to keep me interested and just kept getting better as I went along. There was a lot of creamy coco, brown sugar, leather, hay, and woodiness notes that all worked together in a really nice way. I would suggest trying one for yourself. " -Jeff (ExpendableYouth)

·"This was an interesting cigar. I started out mild/medium and kept ramping up in strength were it even caused a bit of a nicotine buzz. The main flavor component was wood & spice, there was a nice floral and cream on the retro in the beginning then turned to more spice, until the final third which brought heavy cinnamon on the retro very unusual. HVC Cigars is adding a 6 x 60 size to it's HOT CAKE line and will show it off at the PCA 2021 trade show. This new size will be called the Gran Cañon and will have a special secondary footer. This also marks the first 60 ring cigar the company has in it's entire portfolio.
"This cigar was a tale of two halves. The first half had complexity while the second half was on the darker side with little change. I'm not sure if it was me or the blend but by the end, I was left with more questions about how good this cigar could really be. I will definitely revisit this cigar once I know what it is. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi)
"Overall it had good flavors through and through. The strength of this cigar was more then I was expecting. The smoke output was a lot. The smoke texture was thick and really stuck to the palate. Musty mineral and rich earthy coffee notes. No sweetness to this smoke. Retrohale was very strong musty black pepper." -Chad M. (Chad Tchad)
