Blind Cigar Review: MBombay | Vintage Reserve Lancero 1973

"Perfectly balanced and medium bodied is the best way to sum up this cigar. I had the opportunity to smoke two of these premium cigar offerings... that is like 16" of cigar.. never once did a harsh flavor cross my palate. On the exhale we had cedar, white pepper, herbs, antique tobacco, malts, and a little bit of sweetness. Retro had a delicious creamy airy lemon cake and cedar. Multi-country blend for sure. Perfect construction and burn. This cigar had flavors that reminded me of a old Cuban cigar from the 1980's with double the damn body. Aroma had an ancient library smell. "This cigar was never in my wheelhouse, but I am happy I got the opportunity to smoke it. This cigar expands the palate from prelight to the nub of what a premium cigar can offer in terms of flavor. Maybe my palate is broken.. I have no idea, but the exhale/retro was interesting delivering the wet wood, peat, earth, citrus, salt and flighty cream. "I really enjoyed this cigar and would very much so enjoy to be able to experience this premium cigar offering again. While not being the most complex cigar it provided great flavors throughout. The retro was where this blend is at with the pepper, cream, cedar and floral notes. Finish was clean AF. The petite robusto vitola is a favorite of mine and would work great in colder climates. Pick up this cigar and smoke it because Momma always said, "what is here today could be gone tomorrow." Applause." -Matt C. (Big Matt)

"This is a very good cigar that could be smoked after your son's bar mitzvah or after you knock-out some asshole that drank you beer, I digress. Any cigar guy would enjoy this cigar as rich tobacco is very evident on the exhale and palate. The retro had a touch of sweetness that lingered with the cream and grass. That being said if you sit back and pay attention to this cigar you can pick up the nuances in this blend. This is a classic blend and I wouldn't be surprised if the blender is a descendant of a family rich in tobacco and cigar culture. "The first two thirds showed some promise, although a bit one dimensional. The creamy leather and oak combination was very enjoyable. The final third, however, was my samples unraveling.
