Victor Calvo is a new brand, but Victor Calvo is not new to producing cigars. The company has been producing cigars for other brands for quite some time. This cigar has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler. The Gran Robusto measures in at 5”x55 and carries an MSRP of $4.80.

This was an excellent cigar, really a solid broadleaf. I am surprised how much this didn't taste like the regular Enclave, but broadleaf does tend to take over the flavor of a cigar when wrapped. The draw was snug but very good and the burn was average. I would put this as one of the better broadleaf offerings of AJ Fernandez, which is saying a lot because he makes a lot. I'm excited to see how these score in blind review, and I would suggest trying them when it comes out.
I would consider this above average. Definitely something that you could enjoy when you’re looking for something mild like a morning smoke.
This line was made to commemorate company president Alan Rubin's sons, Alec & Bradley, who became of legal smoking age in 2014. The Lineage Robusto is 5 1/4x52 and carries an MSRP of $6.75 per cigar.

This was by far my favorite new cigar from IPCPR this year and one of my favorites overall this year. This was so smooth and buttery and the flavors were always balanced and great. It had just the right amount of spice throughout. The flavor profile and aged tobacco flavors I found are usually unique to Cuban cigars. It was full flavored and complex with lots of transitions without being overly powerful. The price is a bit steep, but I will be buying a box of these, no question. I give this a personal score of 96 (Extraordinary).

Construction was mostly fine, with good draw through a full cut and a mostly even burn with occasional canoeing and short ashes; it seemed to be a bit tightly rolled as it went out on me four times when left unattended. Lasted me for about 90 minutes.
Yes, I knew what I was smoking. Yes, I am a fan of Drew Estate, especially the T-52 and also blends from Willy Herrera. Yes, I am a fan of Caldwell, especially The King is Dead and The Last Tsar. Take all of that into account, and call me a fanboy if you want. I just don't care, because this was an excellent cigar.
