"This is one of the better experiences I have had since being a panelist with Blind Man's Puff. While the prelight aromas were a little "odd" and had what I would describe as hints of dryness to it, the overall profile of the cigar was great! It developed nicely and changed all along the way, offering something different and enjoyable with each part of the cigar. This is a key point for me in rating a cigar, as I personally feel a cigar that develops a more favorable profile as it goes, is paramount to a rewarding smoking experience that keeps the smoker coming back for more" -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)
J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has started shipping 1,250 boxes of its Yagua cigars to cigar retailers in the United States. That cigar has basically been an annual release up until this point with the first batch being released in July of 2020, and the second in August of 2021. The company says a second batch for 2022 is expected around Thanksgiving.
Casa Cuevas Cigars has announced that the Casa Cuevas brand will now be available in Canada. The news comes by way of a new distribution agreement with Canadian Craft Cigars owned by cigar enthusiast Barry Hannah and Kent Plosz. Canadian Craft Cigars specializes in distributing boutique cigars.
"With the exception of the middle portion, I was pleased with the experience. There were periods of very nice flavor and this would be enough for me to revisit this in the future. There was some power in this one so beginners beware…drink a beverage and you’ll probably be fine. Overall this was a nice way to finish an evening." -Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Aganorsa Leaf is rebranding their core lines Corojo, Maduro, Habano, and Connecticut in the new La Validación Series. The blends for the cigars remain unchanged but they have been repackaged with more prominent Aganorsa Leaf branding, and the box counts and sizes have been standardized. All four lines will now be comes in 15-count and be offered in the same three vitolas: Gran Robusto 5 x 54, Toro 6.25 x 52, and Gran Toro 6 x 58. In keeping with the original versions, all sizes will be box pressed with the exception of the Habano, which will continue to be rolled as round parejos.
Macanudo Gold Label is coming back for its annual release in May. This time will be the brand’s 20th anniversary and with it comes a new limited edition size available this year only, a 6 x 52 Gran Pyramid.
"I really enjoyed what this cigar offered. The complexity was there and kept me engaged throughout the entire session. Delicious notes of hazelnut, cedar, and red pepper worked in harmony, along with some orange zest to keep things interesting. Then you add in the parts with milk chocolate at the beginning and coffee towards the end, you're left with a fulfilling experience that I wouldn't mind revisiting in the near future. I will be interested in smoking this again, once I find out what it is that I smoked. " -Doug S. (Unpossible_1)
Ventura Cigar Company has announced a new cigar in the Slaughterhouse line, Slaughterhouse: The Operator. This is a collaboration with Operation: Cigars for Warriors. The cigar comes in bundles of 10 that the company says have aged for multiple years. Each bundles includes a postcard about Cigars For Warriors' (CFW) mission and a limited-edition decal featuring The Operator artwork. All profits benefit Cigars for Warriors.
La Flor Dominicana has announced a new cigar, the Golden Bull, but it will not be sold in a way that has been done before. The company will sell an NFT for the cigar. Owners of that NFT will then have access to purchase the cigar. With only 7 NFT's being sold, the availability of the cigar will be very limited. An NFT is a Non-Fungible Token, meaning a digital representation of a real-world object that cannot be copied or stolen. They run on the same technology, Blockchain, as cryptocurrencies.
