Omar de Frias announced today a new cigar exclusive to Old Virginia Tobacco (OVTC), Fratello Esclusivo Connecticut. Last year, Old Virginia Tobacco and Fratello launched the Esclusivo, which was a 5 x 52 piramide using a Habano Nicaragua wrapper. The new blend uses an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaragua and Dominican fillers. Esclusivo Connecticut comes in one vitola, a 6 x 52 parejo. Only 300 boxes of 20 were made. Esclusivo Connecticut will sell at all 7 stores of the Northern Virginia chain.

·"I enjoyed this quite a lot. Nice change from my usual flavor preferences as well as being out of my comfort zone in terms of vitola. Served as a nice reminder to get out of your comfort zone once in a while. There's a great big world of cigar opportunities out there and it's nice to step out of your normal routine from time to time. This cigar stayed pretty much in the medium realm throughout in terms of strength and complexity. The display of really nicely refined baked good flavor, floral qualities, finishing with rich dark woody notes offered a nice range of experiences. Aside from some mid-smoke missteps in construction this was a real joy of a cigar. " -John I. (John I.)

Cubariqueño Cigar Co. announced today a new shop exclusive for Cigars International - Confidential Informant. In the police world, this is very often abbreviated to CI which also happens to the the initials of Cigars International. This goes along with the company's theme of police naming for cigars.
The original Headley Grange was inspired by the drum beat on the lead-in to the Led Zeppelin classic "When the Levee Breaks." The name came from where the track was recorded, a former poorhouse (built in 1795) in East Hampshire, England, named Headley Grange. Last year, Crowned Heads released a limited edition version called "Black Lab LE 2018," named after the black Labrador Retriever that was hanging around the Headley Grange studio during the recording of Led Zeppelin IV. That blend uses the same fillers as the original Headley Grange, but replaces the wrapper with Connecticut (Habano) maduro. For 2019, Crowned Heads is releasing "Headley Grange Chamuco LE 2019."

Big, bold flavors of earth with a world wind tour of coffee, molasses, spices, peppercorns and a bit of an anisette flashing around on the finish. Tremendous construction, nearly flawless. Alec and Bradley is the company started by the sons of Alec Bradley cigar maker Alan Rubin, Alec and Bradley Rubin.
